DS stands for Double Screen for the two displays, one for the picture and the other for the controls and the input. There is a big range of games for the DS, and Gameboy Advanced games can be played, too. Some DS compatible games can be played with more than one player and thanks to a WLAN, can even be played wireless over the internet. A browser allows you to surf the web and a chat program allows you to communicate through the Internet. A special extra is the integrated microphone with which you can control games with your voice. The sound is Virtual Surround Sound. The Nintendo NS is the "light" version of the DS: it has a lighter casing, is a third smaller but still has the same technology. Also the battery of the NS lasts a lot longer.
