The spontaneous type: the spontaneous photographer is not a technical freak and does not like to carry a lot of equipment around. He/she loves to take a lot of pictures and is happy with snapshots. Having a compact and well designed casing is important as well as simple use, fast charging and little shutter delay. An automatic, bright enough (integrated) flash for changing light is needed. The landscape photographer: starting with the sunrise in the mountains to the sunset on the sea everything should be captured in true colors and not be blurry. Instead of charging time, the zoom plays a bigger role: a 3-times zoom is standard but with a 4, 6 or even 10 times zoom you can take close-ups of flowers as well as panoramic pictures of the surrounding mountain peaks. To avoid blurry photos an extra picture stabiliser is a very handy tool. The passoinate (semi) profi: if digital photography is your passion, there is no way around a more expensive and less compact camera. The right choice is a SLR model with different lenses and flashes. A high resolution with over 5 million pixels (even 8 or 12 mil.) is recommended. However, even more important is an easy to understand menu on the display and a possibility to switch easily between automatic and manual functions.

Glossary

Motivprograms

Almost all digital cameras come with motivprograms, at which the device resorts to previously stored preferences. Motiv- or other automatic programs can be found in the sections "landscape", "sports", "potraiture" and night.

Changeable lens socket

The changeable lens socket is a manufacturer-specific cameraport for exchangeable lenses, like f.E. in digital reflex cameras.
